These stuffed apples are more than delicious! Truly!
My favorite part is that they are perfect to serve as individual portions to your guest. An easy dessert that looks amazing and tastes even better!
My kitchen smelt amazing when I added all the flavors to the apple and butter mixture. I wish I could have captured it on a video so that you guys could smell it too!
This recipe is for 2 servings only but you can easily multiply it 🙂
Ingredients
- 1 golden delicious apple
- 25 g butter without salt
- 1 teaspoon orange rind (avoid the white part)
- 2 squirts of fresh orange juice
- ground cinnamon
- ground ginger
- pinch of salt
- small handful dried cranberries
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 x tablespoons oats
- 2 x tablespoons flour
- 2 x tablespoons brown sugar
- pinch of salt
- pinch of baking powder
- pinch of baking soda
- 25 g melted butter without salt
- 200 ml heavy cream
- 200 ml sweetened condensed milk
- 2-3 heaped teaspoons ground ginger
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- Saute your apples in your pan with your melted butter after a minute or so add your spices, salt, orange rind, orange juice and cranberries and let the mixture continue to simmer until all the flavors are well combined and the apples are golden brown.
- Preheat your oven at 175ºC/350ºF.
- Mix all your dry ingredients together and lastly add your melted butter, mix until well combined.
- Cut the tops off your apples and make a circle indent with a sharp knife in each one and use a tablespoon to scoop out the flesh. Scoop out as much as you can because the more you do the more space you have for your delicious filling! Scoop your filling into the emptied apples and top with the oatmeal topping.
- Bake for 20 - 30 minutes (depends on your oven) until the apples are soft.
Notes
Total Time excludes prep for no churn ice cream or setting there of.
